Kaisercraft Desk tidy

Well here it is finally after wanting one for EVER i managed to buy one the other day from my LSS so i got straight to making it yesterday and i LOVE LOVE LOVE it, in fact i may need to buy more lol. would be great for holding tools/paints/mists etc. I used my Sweet sue kit to decorate this plus a few bits from my stash, i used these  papers as my scrap room is going to be in these colours so i think it will fit in nicely. The first picture is how it looked before it was decorated, though i did need to put it together myself, thankfully this was easy to do. It is now full of Sweet Sue ready to be scrapped with. My plan is to put each months kit in this holder so that i always have it out in my desk, once the month is up i will put them into my SC crop bags so that the kits is still together, or what is left of them, this will make room for the next months kit.
Materials list is

Paint - Kaisercraft
Patterned papers - Sassafrass Lass, October Afternoon and Basic Gray

Always - Noel Mignon Challenge

Well tonight i worked on a layout for a challenge over at Noel Mignon. This one was called the "I Gotta Be Me" challenge and is based around a conversation that happened on the MB. One of the members asked a question about what people look for as far as getting on teams and being pubbed. Noel replied with a lengthy description of being true to yourself, having a style all your own and scrapping the way you like. Noel then went on to define the styles of all the gals on the DT and some of the members who asked her to tell them what she saw as the highlights of their work.

Noel think's this is an important step in any sort of hobby because when you know your style, and are comfortable and happy with where your work is, it will show. And also having your "happy place" that brought you to scrapbooking in the first place is a great place to go when you feel stumped. Not that stretching your wings into trying new styles and techniques isn't fun or important, but knowing what is "you" is fun, and like having that comfy "go to" sweater in your can always count on it to make you smile.

SOOOO...this challenge is all about being yourself with your work. Just scrap your favorite way. There is no right or wrong way, it is just "YOUR" way. This is running from today through Sept. 24th.

I was one of the members that asked the question on the MB and Noels reply was - Caz - Clean lines, "feminine touch" to all your work, emphasis on photos. Anyway this was nice to hear as i am never sure what style i have and as i am fairly new to the scrapping world i feel i am still trying heaps of new things.

At this moment i think what best describes what i do... To start with i always love to use some of the fabulous sketchy sites out there or perhaps lift some of the fabulous scrappers out in blog land, this always helps get my mojo going. Noel was right when she said i have clean lines as i think 99% of the time i do, dont get me wrong i LOVE to see some full on shabby LO's but when i try to over embellish etc i really struggle as i just think i make it look to cluttered so yes i do stick to Clean most of the time. Right now i seem to be inking everything as i think it just makes things pop of your page and also i am just really getting into layering papers, it just add so much dimension to a page.I also always matt my pictures as i really think this stands them out from all the papers etc, this is how i wasshown and i guess it has always stuck with me. Anyway i hope you like my layout for this challenge.

Our week in Hospital

Lucy has been sick last few weeks with the flu then she got thoncillitis (4th time this year yuk) anyway as that was clearing up she got a urine infection, could of been from her antibiotics, who knows anyway i took her to docs and he gave us cream incase it was thrush but asked me to take in a urine sample just incase, well that night she started getting high temps so i thought god her flu is coming back, anyway i called gp for urine results but they werent back yet so i asked to see him as paracetemol wasnt bringing her temps down and she was in alot of pain in her tummy and back. so as soon as hesaw her and took her temp hewas like get her to hosp, she should be better now. so of to hospital and it turns out the organism in her urine was to strong for the meds and was resisting it thus the fever etc, so there was only one med potent enoughto kill it and could only be done via IV drip... anyway this was a nightmare as i had to hold her down(gary was a few hours away at college) and it took 4 attempts to get it in, tried both hands , third time got it in but she was kicking and it went in on itself so they had to remove it , then they called in some top surgeon dude and he managed to get it in on the 4th attempt anyway during this she was being sick as shewas in so much distress and i was crying omg it was a nightmare as you can imagine. so off we went to bed but every time a nurse came to take temps or add fluids or meds to drip it was a screaming match and boy can she scream, but she was just so terrified. they said we would have to stay for 5 daily doses of these meds and until she had no fever for 48 hours, thankfully after 3 days the fever started coming down. then on sat morning we had to get bloods taken to seehow the drugs were affecting her, cos they were so strong, youknow check levels etc this was another nightmare as she fought like crazy but it was over in a few minutes thanaks god. Then last night she pulled the drip out completly by accident but but they were happy with the ammount of drugsin her system to kill the kidney infection so we didnt need to re-do it(thankgod i couldnt of done that to her again) so this morning on our 6th day we got the all clear, she just has to take 3 more days ofthe 2nd meds she was on and go for an ultrasound to check her kidneys this friday and a check up,with a follow up in 4-6 weeks. also cos it was so severe when ever she gets a high tempthat wont come down, we to get urine samples straight away so as not to damage her kidneys anymore

A door hanging for Lucy

Here is another project i worked on over the weekend, i absolutly love this and am soooo happy with it, and it actually does look better in real life. I recieved the actual wooden part (cant remember the name lol)out of either Office party or Sweet sue from Noel Mignon, i say either as i opened them both at the same time and cant remember which kit it is from. Any whooo i decided straight away that i would use it to make this for Lucy, i didn't use papers from the kits as i wanted it all girly. There is not a hangy bit on it as its a new house we are in and im sure my hubby wont be happy if i make holes all over her door lol, so i will Velcro it to the door. I could of added more to it but i was scared to clutter it too much. Lucy loves this and keeps picking it up, i guess i need to get it on that door before it gets broken.
