My love for washi

Well i have discovered a new love for washi tape, don't get me wrong i have had a dozen or so rolls for a few months that i had received in various kits but only used it on the odd occasion. Well that has changed i seem to be using it on almost every layout these days i just love it and so good for filling a gap in a layout where nothing else would look right.

Here is a look at what i have now and how i store them (a fruit basket)

Anyway the reason for this post is to show you some i have bought and i am waiting on arriving to play with

These one's from Etsy
This one from Etsy
And again another from the same seller ( I am actually getting 2 rolls of this as one comes in a kit i have bought but hey it wont go to waste lol)

Chasing waterfalls

here is a layout i worked on a couple of days ago, and you would not believe how i done it. We were getting carpets laid in our lounge and master bedroom (when we built we had polished concrete floors and let me tell you it was an expensive experiment as i HATED them lol) anyway as my old scrap room was off the lounge we decided to carpet through there too. Well to say my house was in chaos would be an understatement, all my scrap room was split over our dining table/breakfast bar and guestroom floor/bed etc our lounge furniture was in our kitchen and our bedroom furniture was in my new scrap room and the main bathroom. WOW a mess and if you know me you will know i don't deal with mess/clutter well what so ever. Anyway as i couldn't clean or tidy i decided to just scrap so i got a single pager and a double pager done :) i just parked my but at the breakfast bar and got scrapping.

This layout was made from the September kit over at Harvest moon (still available with $10 off)

Real life stars

Today the theme over at Practical Scrappers was to do a double pager now normally i love to do them but with this one i just really struggled, think my mojo was on a break or something, i angled and cut the star paper wrong, the list goes on lol. Anyway here it is

Give me some sugar

The theme today over at Practical Scrappers is Misting/Masking so i thought i would do a bit of both. To start with i chose PP that was kind of self coloured, i then punched out 5 butterflies and placed them on my page where i wanted to mist. I chose a paler same colour than the PP and just sprayed it everywhere. Next i thought i would sew round the misted parts to help make them stand out ( i know I'm sorry i just can't stop sewing lol) This looks much better in real life as i don't know that you can make the misting out that well, we have had such bad weather here and its been a nightmare for getting the pictures to look good I'm afraid. Anyway i had fun with it and I'm sure you will to if you play along :)

Materials Used ( using Boardwalk by Studio Calico)
Patterned Paper - October Afternoon, Cosmo Cricket and My Minds Eye

Besties for one day only

Over at Noel Mignon she does a seasonal tag team, this is where she chooses a layout from the gallery and then gets a couple of teams together, one person gets the original then the next person gets the first persons layout and so on, anyway this time i went to the back of the line as i had personal stuff happening and I'm glad i did as i really like the inspiration piece that i got to work from. Instead of using the paper that Maryann had used to frame the paper i chose to use stamps/zing and some washi tape (my new love) I really LOVE how this layout turned out, hope you do to. Oh and if you fancy it the autumn tag team sign ups are up on the message board, i dare you to go sign up.

Oh and seeing this again reminded me of the fabulous chicken wire stamp AzElizabeth sent me as i didn't buy the add on and it didn't come to the store, all the way from Switzerland, thanks SOOOOOOOOOOO much Elizabeth i LOVE it.

Top 5 foods

I discovered a new kit club this week and whats even better is that it is over here in Kiwi land, awesome for us kiwis.  Anyway the owner put up a challenge this week using some pictures she found on Pintrest.

The challenge we were given was to make a layout showcasing our favourite dish maybe share a recipe, you know just something along those lines. Well after a few days i got to work, i mulled it over in my head as to what direction i wanted to go with mine. For some time i have wanted to make a picture less Layout but have been unsure as to what to base the layout and finally i thought this would fit this challenge well. I decided what i wanted to do was do a list of my top fave foods and go from there. I dug out one of my most favourite Studio Calico stamos and got to work. Instead of having a normal list i thought i would do 5 rows of the same stamp and sew on the numbers for each line, i really love how it feels and glad i went with a list instead of a picture. hope you enjoy and please head on over to Kits by Harvest Moon as she has 3 kits up for grabs just for taking part with lots more challenges to come :)

This layout took like 30 minutes to come together and i just LOVE it, i just cut up some hexagons and moved them around the paper until i was happy with them, then i stamped the chevron randomly around the page i then added some washi tape some alpha and a couple of badges and that was it.job done. easy as that.

Pretty Hair

You really should go check out the inspiration over at Scrap with V it is awesome and i just had to play along.

As soon as i saw this i just new i was going to use circles and sewing ALL over my layout ( i am digging circles and sewing at the moment)  so i got to work. The first layout i made i was not happy with the position of my circles so i chucked it out and started again (I'm bad like this lol) This time i was happy with how it turned out. Next i just filled in the circles with all my scraps and some journaling. LOVE it.

Please go play along for the RAK at the end of the month using the above picture for inspiration.

Hey I'm back!!! sorry i have been AWOL but you all know why. Anyway i have so many layouts and news i have to share with you guys so i have to get started yay with my first layout.

This one was for the theme over at Practical Scrappers which was chipboard. Now i HATE to work with chipboard as I'm sure you all know if you have read any of my posts, so i thought i would do this one. Firstly i had these fabulous chipboard banners in a kit i bought so figured what the hell, so i misted them using Lunch Tray (my favourite Mister Huey colour ) and then just added some BG mini alpha for the heading. I just LOVE this LO to bits and how it turned out. Also ain't Lucy the CUTEST girl you ever saw??? or am i biased, nah she is the cutest.
