Project Life - 9th to 15th

So here i am finally sharing this here on my blog, i kept forgetting to upload it. This one came together very fast, i think an hour from start to finish which was nice.

I seem to do so much journaling huh!! I would love to do it more in the style of Lisa Trusdell or Marcy Penner but then i find myself sitting writing 19 to the dozen and before i know it i have wrote heaps, ah well this is obviously my style so i better go with it. Also i think this way Lucy will have so much to read about when she grows so i can not complain.

So i have been DYING to get a picture of me jumping like this, just like Kelly Purky. So while we were at the park last week i had Gary take a couple of pictures and boy we had fun with it, just look how high Lucy jumps lol.  I used this sketch from October Afternoon and I also used something that Marcy Penner did, that was having a picture under this one, i then sewed this one on top. Of course i forgot to take a picture of the flap, but i promise you it is there. I also added some paper along the top and bottom and some ink splatters for one of the Layout a week challenges

Super cool girl

Over at Studio Calico one of the challenges for Layout a Week was to have a look at the ST calls and choose one to submit. I chose Who inspires you? well i went with Amy Tangerine as i just love her fun easy style. I just grabbed scraps of paper my washi tapes and just layered them on the paper, I then filled in some gaps with some punched out papers from my little jar. I then put the pictures on there and added the title, it took me like 30 minuted total and i really LOVE how it came out, this is definitely a style i will be doing more of in the future.

Lucy's 5th Birthday Mini Album

So as you all know i am a HUGE fan of Amy Tan and her fabulous mini albums, so when we were asked to make a mini album for an assignment over at Practical Scrappers I thought i would get one of these out, seeing as i have 7 of them waiting to be filled.  I used mostly materials i got from a kit over at BPS for the Amy Tan class there (yup i have started it at long last) and I'm so happy with how it turned out, I hope you like it.

Oh and I see my nails need done ha ha shhhhhh don't tell anyone :)

Don't laugh but i actually wrote the wrong place for her party so it has been changed since i took this picture.

Christmas Drinks

Toady's theme over at Practical scrappers is 'Clean and Simple' which i thinks well and truly my scrap booking style, I am sure you agree. While i love simple i also like some dimension on my page too, so for this one i got out my thread and mist. I don't mist as much as i do splatter but i really wanted to use my mask for this one so that i could stitch around it. and then i did some splattering too. I really love how this one turned out so much, in fact it was the first layout i done in a month over the holidays so I'm pleased with how it looks :)

This is a picture Lucy took of Gary and I on Christmas day :)

Project Life Jan 2nd to Jan 8th

Here is yet another PL post to add, I am still so loving doing this project, It has really made me document so much more than i would normally. I'm not kidding though this layout took me AGES no joke , days i tell you. This was dues to Gary being home and me not being able to get a run at it, you know, i would get 5 minutes done here 3 minutes there, whereas i normally would do it all in the one sitting. Also i took about 2 or more hours just choosing the pictures i wanted to include, but let me tell you that for the following week i tried a new way and it has worked and i will be sticking to that as it took me less than an hour to do the journaling and choose the pics yay :)  I am just waiting on those pictures and i will then share it ASAP

Left hand page
For this one i got out my mini sewing machine and i LOVE it, I also used my Silhouette to do the title, I'm not sure if i have mentioned it before but really if you have a cricut, sell it and get this machine it is AMAZING. This page covers.
  1. Lucy's new passport picture
  2. Lucy's height
  3. My walking
  4. Lucy's new pool
  5. Her friends being round
Right hand side

This page covers.
  1. Lucy's fave game this week that we still play daily along with scrabble
  2. One of Lucy's jokes
  3. movie time with her friends
  4. her friends round for a picnic
  5. going for a nice lunch
So at the end of this week i realised i talk alot about Lucy and she spends a lot of time with her friends which is awesome. Oh and that i never stopped all week ha ha

Project Life title page

So i finally made this the other night at long last, only like 7 weeks into doing this PL thing lol. In real life i really really love it but I'm not liking it when i see it pictured, I have decided i will maybe change it up, add some more stuff. I do love the colour's i went with and i love all the Silhouette cuts i made so that's good.

If you are not sure how to approach PL then you should definitely head over to this class here ran by Lisa Truesdell she is just AMAZING at PL and best of all the class is FREE, can't get better than that huh!!

As i have said before i did not purchase any of the PL core kits, I wanted to see how i went using my stash, and so far I'm loving it. I did however buy the pack of blank journal cards, I sat one night for a half hour or so and stamped them or covered them in washi tape and i love how they came out

Stamped ( I love this sheet of paper here where you can see all my over spilled stamps)
Washi tapes (the orange Amy Tan chevron is my favourite EVER)
Talking about Amy Tan, i received a package today all full of her wonderful new stuff
I got one of each album and 2 of the airplane one, here is the inside pictures and let me tell you they are AMAZING they are just FULL of goodness, including stickers
I also got one pack of each of the new embellishments, and WOW the envelopes are amazing i need like 100 packs of these, they are going to be awesome to glue in the albums on holiday with things like door keys etc
I also got another pack of this tape as i just LOVE it, all 3 of these tapes are amazing and i use them a LOT, sad to know they are sold out now and won't be back, lets just hope her next set is just as amazing

Oh and also if you head on over to Amy's blog this week her sneaks of her new line being released at CHA will be going on there, and if you love her work and haven't heard this, then you should head on over and sign up for her class being held at Studio Calico in Feb, it looks awesome, head here for more information

And one last thing i wanted to share was a sneak of the fabulous stamps coming out in February at Cocoa Daisy, I will be honest and tell you that i was thinking of cancelling my stamp sub there as i didn't really like January's stamps, but as soon as i saw this sneak i changed my mind, i love each one so much. I am especially excited about the birds on a wire set as i never bought the add on at Studio Calico that had a similar one.

OK i have to thank you if you got this far as i know there was a lot in this post, I finally took my pictures of the last 2 weeks of PL today so will get them uploaded soon , oh and i had a blonde moment today, i went to my LSS to order my pictures for last week and i had forgot to load them to my memory stick LMAO I'm so crazy, oh well i will head back round and do it tomorrow

Project Life Dec 19 to 25

Hello Ladies

Sorry I'm so late sharing this but it has been a crazy week here at home as I'm sure it is everywhere, we are just making use of Gary being with us to spend lots of time together. Lucy has 4 of her friends over and while they watching a movie i thought i would try keep up with my blog and upload some PL. I have also sat and organized my pics for last week and will go order those today, so i should have that up in a few days for you all to see.

So i don't know if i have said it before but i am sooooooooooo excited about doing PL and i am over the moon happy that i started it a month early, i have documented so so much that i would not have had i waited until January. I am still enjoying using my stash but i will order some Clementine soon to mix up with my stash

If you are looking for some inspiration head on over to the Studio Calico forum as they have a full forum just for PL with a TON of inspiration too, or look at the right hand side of my blog where i have the whole PL DT listed :)

So onto my Xmas week pages, i did add in a lot here as i had so much to document, I chose not to condense it as if i had i would of then wanted to do a ton of layouts instead and for me this PL is all about taking the pressure off of my scrap booking life

Left hand page
  • Wine time in the garden
  • Lucy being sick
  • Day in the garden
First insert (for this i used a 6x12 PP and just cut a piece of paper to this size and stuck all my items on top)

  • Lucy having fun at the library
  • my new hair colour
  •  All about Lucy having a sleepover (these are the girls who are over playing today plus their big brother)
2nd insert

  • A silly thing Lucy said
  • Going to the movies
  • A cocktail party
  • Meeting Santa ( I just remembered the picture is missing i removed it to scan to the computer)
  • Christmas day pictures of what we done
Right hand page
  •  pictures of Lucy's gifts and the journaling of what we done today
So that is it and well done if you made it here lol, I have finally decided what i shall do for my album page, i was in a quandary as i had started it 1 month early but i have decided i will still call it 2012 as that will be mainly what it is, i just have one month in there extra

I have also planned my title page and will do that this week once the pictures are back from my LSS
